CIRCULAR SAW BLADES

CIRCULAR SAW BLADES

Diamond Circular Saws for:

In diamond circular saws, the material is cut with the use of diamond segments that are precisely welded on the outer periphery of the steel disc blade, under controlled time, heat and pressure. One of the essential points for cutting is the use of suitable segments for the specific material to be cut. While segments wear the stone, the stone abrades the segments as well, so new diamond particles become exposed and the process continues.

DIATOOLS Diamond Circular Saws are available in  200 to 3000 mm diameters in order to adapt their use possibilities to different materials and machineries.

DIATOOLS Diamond Circular Saws are widely used in:

– Cutting marble, granite, travertine, limestone;
– Opening grooves in concrete roads;
– Cutting asphalt roads;
– Cutting building floors and walls;
– Installing power and telecommunication lines without damaging asphalt roads;
– Construction and restoration of airports.

Application recommendations:

Cutting rate

A proper speed must be determined for every single material, since the peripheral speed varies with characteristics of the each specific material. A very low speed results in segments getting dull, resulting in a blade that will not cut. In addition, a very fast cutting causes diamond particles to burn or break out. In both cases, the saw blade’s life will decrease considerably. Refer to Table I for peripheral speed and rpm values according to saw blade diameters.

Power requirement

The motor power driving the main shaft must be sufficient to maintain an optimum performance of the saw blade. Main shaft and saw blade alignment must be proper, that is, it must be ensured that there is no gap between main shaft and the saw blade’s arbor hole. The vertical saw must move in parallel with the horizontal saw blade. Also, the material to be cut must be anchored securely. See table II for minimum power requirements.

Flange
The functions of flanges are to tighten the saw blade to the main shaft, to ensure proper alignment of both and to avoid the saw blade run off. Flanges must be free of dirt, oil and rust and must be checked periodically. For minimum flange diameters, refer to table II.

Cooling water
The function of cooling water is to cool the saw blade and to wash worn particles off the material from the cutting zone, so excessive wear on segment is avoided. Cooling water must be directed to both sides of the blade, below flanges and in front of the blade, if necessary. Cooling water must be sufficient and clean. For cooling water requirements, see table II.

Direction of rotation

The saw blade must always be mounted in the direction of rotation shown on it by an arrow. If the blade is installed in reverse on the main shaft, diamond particles on segments will fall down and dullness will occur. A suitable cutting system must be determined for each type of stone. For hard materials such as granite, the step cutting method is recommended.
